Hope you have a great time on MIUI Forum. Well let's start our new survey- Everyone is tied up with their own securities and privacies in every aspect and in this smartphone era it is must. We live in a world that isn’t always filled with angels . Our first line of defense against evil doers is our lock screen. So let us have a survey about 'Which type of security lock does everyone use often'. Before that, have a brief look on this locks and its history.
Security locks on Android was mostly from 2.0 Eclair and improvised in 2.1. In Android 2.2 nearly Mid-2010 password and pin was introduced in Froyo. Pattern and password locks already supported, in addition to that Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich adds a face unlock that uses the phone's front camera to look for a match.
It was one of the funniest and crazy feature in Android that I know. In order to set this option up, we have to place our face inside of a face-shaped ring of dots using our front camera. Once approved, you’ll also be asked to provide a backup option in case the device cannot recognize your face. The two backup options are PIN or pattern. If Face Unlock setup recognizes you, it will unlock almost immediately. If not, it will ask that you complete your backup PIN or Pattern unlock. Many ways are found to trick Face Unlock from time to time since it can be defeated with a picture of the individual who owns the phone.
Slide to Unlock
Slide is basically the default lock screen. It is not secure by any means. There are no passwords or patterns it’s simply a way to keep your phone from turning itself on and then accessing all sorts of info in our pocket. The nice thing about using Slide, is that you can still access your notification pull-down without having to fully unlock your phone. None of the other lock screen options allow for this, as they are technically “secure.”
Pattern, Pin and Password
Well they all require minimum 4 characters to set lock. These are likely the most secure of the above. These are probably the most commonly used lock screens of all.
Recently Fingerprint sensor smartphones are seeing in everywhere. Fingerprints have become an ideal means of identification. They are used for better security, as a means of identification, etc. No person other than the owner can unlock the phone.
This type of screen locks bases on pattern. Within the specified space we can design our own gesture because of this user feels more flexibility while unlocking the screen. But it is available in some custom ROMs or with xposed module.or by some third party app.
Now let's start the survey:
