Yes it is, contact your vendor and show it to them.
Also, take the charger and the usb cable you use to charge your device.

You can try to contact the vendor (Aliexpress or such) and see if you can get a dispute... although it's a long shot.

The best way is to go to a repair shop and ask for a battery, tell them what happened as they have secure ways to dry the device... More than that I am not sure how to help you. Sorry.
