Thanks - my cam has the L firmware. Does this mean I just stick the "test" folder on the root of a memory card and let the camera boot? Can the folder then be deleted or does it need to be there every time it boots?

EDIT - I copied the "test" folder to the root of the memory card and booted the camera (with L firmware) but when I try to connect to rtsp://192.168.0.23:554/ch_0.h264 with VLC there is no response.

I installed test-rtspfix-02_20151203.zip and 1.8.5.1K_20151201-A_MP77V.zip on my camera.
Now I can telnet to it and I can see that rtsp server is running:

  1. # ps | grep rtsp
  2. 1030 root     30492 S N  ./rtspsvr
  3. 10283 root      1704 S    grep rtsp
Copy the Code
and I can also see that the rtsp server is listening on port 554:
  1. netstat -l
  2. Active Internet connections (only servers)
  3. Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address           Foreign Address         State
  4. tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:8554            0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN

  8. tcp        0      0 :::www                  :::*                    LISTEN
  9. tcp        0      0 :::telnet               :::*                    LISTEN
  10. udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:48820           0.0.0.0:*
  11. raw        0      0 :::58                   :::*                    58
  12. Active UNIX domain sockets (only servers)
  13. Proto RefCnt Flags       Type       State         I-Node Path
  14. unix  2      [ ACC ]     STREAM     LISTENING       2202 /tmp/run/dhcpcd.sock
Copy the Code
But when I try to connect with vlc to this url: rtsp://192.168.0.43:554/ch_0.h264 I'm not able to see any video :-(

Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?

thanks!

I think that test-rtspfix-02_20151203.zip is meant to be flashed on top of the unmodded K or L firmware. Unless I've misunderstood the 1.8.5.1K_20151201-A_MP77V should just work on its own.

Try http://xiaoyi.querex.be/ and download & flash the 1.8.5.1K_test-rtspfix files after a factory reset - that's what I'll be trying tonight!

Hello I guess that your URL is wrong you are missing a "0" so you should type  rtsp://192.168.0.43:554/ch0_0.h264...
(I spent myself minutes without success when i noticed that I was writing rStp instead of rTsp...).

I hope that this info will be useful to you

latest firmware indeed. I updated it with the app and then just put the test folder on the sd and just inserted it. Worked like a charm, now the http server also is able to download the video's what is a nice bonus :)

Make sure the url is correct!

faced boot loop recently when device was powered off during upgrade (kids). How I recovered
1st
- installed clean MP77V version (just home file, connect via apk doesn't work)
- booted and after resetting camera was able to configure for wifi using app
2nd
-  uploaded K firmware (from http://xiaoyi.querex.be/) with rtsp fix (but replaced it with version 2 fix)
- now apk and RTSP works & now information about available upgrade to L

still looking for a way to :
- minimize RTSP delay at receiver (default 1000ms works ok, but if you go below 300ms - camera is unstable and need reboot to recover)
- remove timestamp completely

thx,
M

Cangelog M firmware (google translate):

1. After setting the light turns off, even off the network would no longer be lit up
2. When watching video playback, resolution switching farewell wait!
3. Optimization online upgrade function, effectively shorten the upgrade time
4. Optimize video alarm function, Alarm video upload more stable 5 fixes sometimes inaccurate record searches
