UPDATE:Thought of a better name for MIUI's 'Free Launcher'? - ITS MISPACE!

Hi Everyone,

How is everyone liking the Free Launcher so far? In case anyone was curious how come the feature is ‘Free Launcher’, it was mostly derived from the Chinese name: ‘自由桌面’. A direct translation would be ‘自由’ means ‘freely’ and ‘桌面’ means ‘desktop’.

Anyway, we thought we could have some fun and see if our MIUI fans would have a better name for it? If so, let us know! We may even consider using it and if we really use your name then we would reward you with 50 credit points as a token of thanks for your awesome creativity!

To kick off, we thought about the name: ‘MIUtop’ and here is why:

- combines the word ‘MIUI’ with ‘Desktop’. Desktop is the closest thing to describing ‘桌面’ and what the new feature is.

- Incorporates the word ‘utopia’ in it, which is a perfect world where you can let your imagination run free. Utopia also captivates the essence of the Chinese name: “自由桌面”—the freedom to do whatever you want onyour desktop.

- Lastly, it incorporates the word ‘top’, which we hope MIUI will be some day!

If you have a better name, let us know!

We have finally made a decision to change the name of Free Launcher to – MiSpace! Thank you everyone for contributing! Definitely loved some of the name that were put out there but unfortunately we could only choose one.

We listen, and we heard. Thanks to your frequent usage of the word ‘space’ or ‘mi-space’ we finally concluded to use: MiSpace!

We are awarding 50 credit points to those who have mentioned the words ‘mi’ and ‘space’ in the name(s). And we are also awarding 25 credit points to those who have mentioned the words ‘space’ in the name(s).
