SOLUTION

hello, here is the final solution all the problem above, when the camera has been connected to wifi network (blue lamp) but the aplication at android say : "failed to connect to camera" or "binding timeout please reset".

1. open the xiaoyi app at your android smartphone
2. klik more > app update (when i write these the latest version was v1.6.0)
3. take your camera, and press the reset hole, until the lamp is orange
4. the lamp will be blinking
5. look at your wifi router, and disconnect the cable that connect to internet. usualy cable at WAN port. or if you use ADSL modem, unplug the telephone line from wifi router. so  wifi is on, but internet is off.

remember: WIFI ON, BUT INTERNET IS OFF/ DISCONNECT

6. back to your xiaoyi android app
7. press (+) add camera
8. enter your wifi password
9. the app will searching the camera, and it will popup say the "network error. can't connect the server".
yes it means, the app cannot conect to xiaomi server because the internet was disconnected. remember? :)

10. close the app
11. back to your router, and connect the internet (plug the cable at wan, or plug the phole line)
12. open again the xiaoyi app
13. press (+) add camera
14, enter your wifi password
15. next next next it will searching
16. voila your camera is connected!

sukses ya sis! :D success? i hope !

thank you!

Are you using the Ant Camera App? If so, see my post here to see if this helps you:

http://en.miui.com/thread-114948-1-1.html

Basically, you need to upgrade the firmware on the camera using the latest Home App. Then you can switch back to the Ant Camera App.

After updating app and firmware I was still getting the binding error. I don't know if was definitely the fix, but I got it working.

Don't change anything in your home router settings and continue the setup with your home wifi connection. I used my wife's phone and setup an open unsecured wifi hotshot. When I went back to my phone and ran to app to setup the camera everything went as it should. Camera connected with no error. In fact the app never detected or optioned for a second wifi connection.  It just worked!
